Rain Maker
Words and Music by Gary Noland (1995)
He rode to town on a Red Red Roan/ And all the dirt nearly turned to stone/ All the people told them their fears/ That it hadnft rained for years and years/ He rode his horse to the tiny square/ And he made himself a deal right there/ Then his hands went up and his head went down/ As he said a prayer in the middle of town/ Let it rain!/ Then the lightening flashed and the thunder roared/ As the gates of heaven opened then it poured!/ Let it Rain! Let it Rain! Let it Rain! / Like it never rained before/ All the people praised the Lord/ They danced and sang as it poured/ But they refused to change their evil ways/ And it rained for days and days and days / He rode his horse to the tiny square/ And made himself another deal right there/ Then his hands went up and his head went down/ As he said a prayer in the middle of town – Stop the Rain!/ Then the lightening flashed and the thunder roared/ As the gates of heaven closed and it rained no more!/ Stop the rain!/ Stop the rain!/ Stop the rain/ And it rained no more!/
